As a substitute, I wanted to address my struggles with finding a full-time teaching position. Our district has recently announce possible teacher layoffs for the next school year, making it nearly impossible to be hired as a new teacher.

I understand your struggles; I too spent many years subbing in my district. I was lucky enough to get a maternity leave position that eventually lead to my getting hired. I am now a stay at home mom, who left my job the year before my tenure and will now face the job market again when I decide to go back. My district just made midyear budget cuts which left 15 teachers without jobs. Good Luck!! It is something to be proud of that you achieved your goal. Congrats!!
